The homebirth midwife of Open Circle Midwifery Services, Robin Doolittle Illian, CPM, provides holistic and comprehensive prenatal care, support during labor and birth (including water birth), and postpartum care. Prenatal visits are done in your own home, or in our office at Birth Roots on State Street in Portland, and last around an hour long-- time to have your questions answered and for your midwife to get to know you. Your midwife is there with you throughout your labor and birth, and you and your baby are never separated. After the birth, the midwives stay to make sure breastfeeding gets off to a good start and remain on-call for you during the postpartum time.
Home birth is a peaceful and empowering option for healthy women and their families. Serving Portland, Maine and the greater Portland area.

Weekly walks with your midwife. As a way to build community and provide some motivation for getting out there and walking (great exercise for pregnancy and new motherhood), we post walk locations/times for all who are interested to meet and take a walk at lunchtime in the Portland area.
